Gran acierto has tenido, te

abrazo fuerte, Ale y Mariano. |

hola thomas

INMEJORABLES. TIENEN LA VIRTUD DE HACER FÁCIL LO QUE EN UN PRINCIPIO
PARECE DIFÍCIL. ADEMÁS, VERLOS BAILAR HA SIDO UN AUTÉNTICO
PRIVILEGIO Y UN GRAN PLACER.
LOS DOY LAS GRACIAS A AMBOS POR HABER VENIDO A CANARIAS Y A TI POR
HABER HECHO POSIBLE ESTA OPORTUNIDAD.
UN FUERTE ABRAZO.
GLADYS. |

From Anne
- Atlanta
"Thanks
again for all your efforts! I very much enjoyed the workshops and
had great dances. Kindly relay my thanks and gratitude to both
Gustavo and Giselle. I learned a lot especially in terms of
musicality." |
|
From Han -
Atlanta
"I just
wanted to first thank you again for setting up this great event and
inviting me to be a part of it. I learned so much in such a short
period of time and I just hope that one day I can dance even 10% as
well as Gustavo and Giselle." |
|
From
Walter & Marilynne- New York
"While we
are waiting to leave the Marriott for the airport, we have a chance
to thank you and say goodbye. We weren't able to do that last night
when we left the milonga; you were busy being hosts and didn't need
the interruption, so we're using this moment to send you a hug and
our appreciation for arranging these days with Gustavo & Giselle
Anne.
Everything was great.
|
|
From
Kathleen - Philadelphia
"Thank you
for a wonderful workshop! You did an amazing job, everything ran
smoothly, your venues were great and your hospitality the best. I am
glad I got to know some of your tango community there in Atlanta, so
kind and so many good dancers! Thank you for bringing these master
teachers to Atlanta!!" |
|
From Mark
- Washington DC
"Thanks
again to Tango Rio for bringing Gustavo and Giselle Anne to
Atlanta.Everything was fabulous, and I know you probably don't want
to think about this right now, but I hope you'll have them back
again." |
|
From
Daniel - Atlanta
"I had a
great time at the workshops and I look forward to dancing as much as
I can during my undoubtedly hectic last year at Tech." |
|
From
Ellen- Athens
"I do
believe these folks are my favorite teachers thus
far.Congratulations on your excellent choice and thank you for a
superb weekend." |
|
From Beth
- Birmingham
"Thank you
for providing the opportunity to experience Gustavo and Giselle and
the beauty of their teaching and dancing. You made that possible
for us." |
|
From Cecil
- North Carolina
"Thank you
for organizing this workshop and working so hard to make sure
everyone had a great time. Gustavo and Giselle are such wonderful
teachers, they've definitely raised the bar in terms of presenting
and then breaking down the material into their subatomic levels.
Not only that, they are so friendly, helpful and humorous. I'm SO
impressed and feel so lucky that I was able to attend all their
workshops. Hope we won't have to wait another
4 years for their return. |
|
From Maria
- Philadelphia
"Thank you
for arranging such a wonderful event. Steve and I loved every moment
of every day and we truly enjoyed Gustavo and Giselle's teaching and
sense of humor. Please keep me in your distribution for future
events from Tango Rio." |
|
From David
- Atlanta
"It was a
great experience and it renewed my passion for tango. Thank you
Tango-Rio for bringing G&G to Atlanta." |
|
From Siama
- Atlanta
"I know
what it takes to put on a huge event and you did this one
impeccably. You are the ones who created the good space to step into
and the ambience for learining. Gustavo and Giselle are brilliant,
inspiring and in addition to being good dancers they are also good
teachers. If they didn't feel comfortable and welcomed and had all
of their needs met - then it could have been another outcome - which
is more testimony to you and who you were being that allowed that to
happen." |
|
From
Suzanne & Douglas - Michigan
"Many
thanks to you for producing such a wonderful workshop and we really
appreciate all the hard work and care that went into it! Bravo!!!
Gustavo & Giselle are true masters in teaching and we feel blessed
to have been able to participate in the event!. We fell in love
with Atlanta and the Inman Park area! The B&B, Sugar Magnolia, was
very nice and we would stay there again. The Trolley Barn had just
enough amount of space and was fun to dance there in the evening.
All in all, we truly mark this workshop as one of the best that we
have experienced... and we've been to many! Please keep us informed
for any of your future events!" |
|
From Bob
to the list
"Out of
all teachers in my tango life (last 4 years or so), there is no
doubt G&G were the finest. Even though english is not their
language, the explanations still made sense." |
|
From
Marissa - Atlanta
"Thank you
for an amazing weekend - four days/nights of Heaven. Makes me thank
goodness I am a tango dancer!!!! Thanks, again, for an incredible
weekend." |
|
From
Crysta - Atlanta
"Thank you
for bringing Gustavo and Giselle Ann, and for continuing to bring
the best teachers to Atlanta." |
|
From Avik
- Michigan
"Thank you
once again for a wonderful weekend. Patricia and I learned so much
and had such a great time and it was all due to Tango Rio's
generosity.Hope to see you in the near future!" |
|
From
Margaret - Tennessee
"Just
wanted to say how much I enjoyed the GyG weekend - it really was
incredible. I know it is a LOT of work to organize. Look forward
to seeing you all again." |

I wanted
to say a HUGE Thank you for your hospitality and for inviting me to
the weekend with Gustavo and Giselle Anne! As always, your
organizing and their teaching was nothing but fabulous!!! I had a
great time and learned a lot. As I said to Gustavo, I think it is
very impressive when someone who is already considered by many to be
the 'best', continued to work at improving what he is doing. I
truly believe that both of them are becoming even better teachers
than they were the last time I worked with them both in Atlanta and
in BsAs. |

From Ronda
to the list of attendees
One
thousand thanks to all of you for your warm and enthusiastic
participation during Gustavo & Giselle's visit to Atlanta. They
just left today. Gustavo & Giselle were thrilled with the reception
they received from you. Thank you for all your patience,
cooperation, diligence and for sharing the joy of studying and
dancing together July 26-29 in Atlanta. It is hard to put into
words, but we saw in your eyes the knowing of having shared in a
very special experience and witnessing greatness.
Abrazos a todos! |

Hi Deb,
I have not had a chance to write yet (due to vacation
& recovering from minor surgery!), but wanted to express my
gratitude to you and Brian for "making it all happen" !!!! The Tango
Encuentro with Gustavo y Giselle Anne was an amazing week. You did a
great job of planning & organizing----you thought of EVERYthing! The
Avalon ballroom is a beautiful space and was perfect for this event
(other venues were both FUN and FUNKY).
After reading Martin Nussbaum's letter, I am at a
loss for words to add. He said it all and very eloquently!
MUCHAS GRACIAS a Gustavo y
Giselle Anne. They are THE BEST! Their generosity in teaching is
remarkable. After traveling to BsAs last December for a seminar, I
so appreciated the opportunity to take another seminar with them
here. I hope that they will agree to come back to teach
again---there are rare opportunities to study "in depth" with the
best!
Thank you again Brian & Deb for a truly wonderful "
tango encuentro".
Debby
P.S. I have traveled to all 50 states and Boulder has
to be one of the most beautiful cities in the U.S. How wonderful to
wake up to that view every day!
P.P.S. If you make the tape
available of GyG performance of Friday evening, PLEASE let me know
how to order it. It was truly a world class performance! It was an
honor and privilege to have been there. |

Dear List, Brian and Deb, Gustavo and Giselle:
Let me preface what I am about to say by affirming
that I have no financial connection either with Dance of the Heart
in Boulder Co, or to Gustavo Naveira and Giselle Anne "G/G". The
only reason I am writing this is to convey my sincere gratitude to
Brian Dunn, Deb Sclar, Gustavo Naveira, and Giselle Anne, for
providing two weeks of tango bliss and inspiration I will never
forget.
It is really difficult to put into words how
extraordinary this program was, from the organization of events, the
quality of the venues, the combination of instruction and social
dance opportunities, plus some time to hike the gorgeous Rockies,
the sincere good nature of the hosts, Brian and Deb, the genuine
open friendliness of the dancers of the Boulder and Denver area,
(miraculously, every cabaceo I sent out was accepted! Colorado
followers, rock on! ) and most of all, the incredible
quality of the teaching of G/G. In my humble
opinion, G/G are the best
in the world at what they do, which is to convey the
essence of tango, the structure of the dance, the beauty and quality
of the movements, the passion, the theory, musicality, rhythm,
phrasing; Gustavo and Giselle give you the total package, with their
full heart and soul. They open your eyes to the possiblities in
Tango, they give you the tools, and then it is up to you to
practice, and use those tools to create you own
personal interpretation and style.
Yes, they deserve deification, or whatever accolade
you can think of, including Buddha, the path to tango
enlightenment. True, they may not have the only path, but it is the
most clearly marked trail this tango
hiker has ever experienced. I have only been
dancing for 9 years, but
I have had the good fortune to experience many
different talented teachers, here in the US as well as in BA, each
having unique strengths. This is subjective of course, and what
impresses me may not
impress others on this list. For example, just to
name one other
inspiring teacher, Gavito was unique in his
conveyance of passion, for me he had the "heart" of tango. Gustavo
has, in addition to the passion, the Mind, the living brains of
tango. I do not easily use the
word "genius". But here the word is warranted.
His analysis of how,
why, when, and where things work or dont work, look
elegant or not, fit the music or not, communicate with your partner
or not, is simply on
the highest level. The performances of G/G at two
of the milongas were
amazing, after a full day of exhausting workshops at
mile high Boulder altitude they delivered four dynamic, sublime,
moving, dance numbers per night that, like you guys, brought tears
to my eyes as well, which took me by surprise, that has not happened
to me before during a tango performance. If you really love tango,
if it touches you at your core,
how could you not cry during that experience? You
knew you were
witnessing world class partnership movement in
musicality, artistry that you might never be lucky enough to see
again.
Brian, I really don't think you should take seriously
any of the simplistic negative comments from anyone on the list,
either they are playing devils advocate for purposes of debate or
attention, or they have never attended a full G/G seminar week, so
they are ignorant on
the subject. In any event, perhaps it is not a good
idea for me to
tell the world how incredible G/G are, as I am happy
to keep them a "secret" for those of us who treasure such a
resource, so we don't have
to fight for a slot in their seminars :-).
I beg you to repeat the encuentro at least once a
year!
Love,
Martin Nussbaum |

The greatest Maestro of Tango in the world
Written by Terence Clarke
Published September 12th 2007
In the world-wide community of Argentine tango (an
enormous community now on every continent), there are a few maestros
that are sought after everywhere. These are people who have studied,
danced, and written about tango so extensively that to dance with
them means that you’ll receive the distilled essence of the form
itself — its movement, its history, its soul.
One of these maestros — perhaps THE maestro of all — is Gustavo
Naveira.

¡El
espectáculo!
And it wasn't even in Buenos Aires!
Written by Terence Clarke

….Gustavo
Naveira and Giselle Anne danced tangos with such precision,
musicality and intense emotion that the audience was stunned into
brief silence at the end before breaking into noisy , deafening
applause. ...
... From the
inception of Nora’s Tango Week ten years ago, Nora wanted to bring
Gustavo Naveira to San Francisco. For various reasons they were not
able to work it out…until this year. Gustavo’s appearance at the
week with his wife Giselle Anne meant that two of the most renowned
teachers of tango in the world would be offering their considerable
expertise to the proceeding.
Their
performance was no less a smash. The off-speed, off-axis turns, the
breathtaking changes of direction, the formality, and superb
musicality…these are all reasons for Gustavo and Giselle Anne’s fame
as dancers. Their performance has flames in it, soul, humor,
precision, and kind of forceful affection that must be seen to be
believed.

Gustavo Naveira & Giselle Anne
The Cream of Tango
Written by Terence Clarke
Published July 11th 2007
“So, you see, you can go this way ..." Gustavo points directly ahead
over his wife Giselle Anne's right shoulder. "Or ..." He turns to
the left and points with the same finger behind him. "... you can go
that way."
He smiles, somewhat puckishly.
The students, about fifty of us, gathered recently in a ballroom in
a San Francisco hotel, scratched our heads, muttering, some
laughing. Although what he and Giselle Anne had just demonstrated
was beyond beautiful, the rest of us dancing would more probably
look like glum, confused insects struggling over a little crumb of
bread.
"This way or that way." Sounded simple. Very difficult to do.
Gustavo
Naveira is the greatest teacher of Argentine tango in the world.
With his wife Giselle Anne, he displays a complete knowledge of
tango movement and the reasons why tango works so marvelously as a
dance form. To study with them is to receive an encyclopedic — and
very exciting — knowledge of where tango comes from, of its
traditions and grand forms, its lore, its music and extraordinary
musicality. .......
